"The Ship of Tolerance" by Ilya & Emilia Kabakov

Since 2016, the Zug filmmaker Remo Hegglin documented the "The Ship of Tolerance" project in cooperation with the Kunsthaus Zug, with more than 2’000 participants, and numerous project partners. It included a whole region and attracted worldwide attention. First realized in the oasis town of Siwa in Egypt in 2005, the participatory project "The Ship of Tolerance" of Ilya and Emilia Kabakov has meanwhile made appearances in Venice, St. Moritz, Sharjah, Miami, Havana, New York, Moscow, Rome, and Rostock. With "The Ship of Tolerance", the internationally renowned artists seek to bring people of different continents, cultures and identities together by actively involving them in the project. Particularly important to them are the children.
