The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam is currently hosting a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition of works by the famous 17th-century Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer. Until 4 June 2023, the museum presents 28 out of 37 known paintings by Vermeer, which is a rare opportunity to embrace the work of the artist. At ikonoTV, we like to focus on looking and seeing, and provide deeper insights into works of art. Therefore, we have dedicated a channel featuring some of the finest paintings by Vermeer in our Slow Art videos. This is our way of preparing you to fully enjoy the works in the exhibition, or providing an alternative experience for those who will miss the show. Check out the [Rijksmuseum website,https://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en/whats-on/exhibitions/vermeer] for more information and stories.
April 13, 2024 is Slow Art Day. A wonderful initiative which exists since 2009. During one day each year, museums and art galleries across the world host events focused on intentionally experiencing art slowly through slow looking. At ikonoTV, we invite you every day to our Slow & Silent Art videos.
