Queen Thessaloniki Created for the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, As a Shadow, As a Dream brings the historical and mythological figure of Queen Thessalonike of Macedonia into a contemporary performance landscape. Conceived and directed by choreographer Apostolia Papadamaki, the ANAMNESIS performance uses movement, voice, music and embodied storytelling to explore the traces left by a woman whose identity moves between history, legend and collective memory. Through Thessalonike, the work opens a wider reflection on women, power, violence, exclusion and resilience, creating a dialogue between the female experience of the ancient world and questions of gender, equality and justice that continue to resonate today.
