Manchitro: The Homeland

Biju, a young child, lives with his family in an indigenous village, very close to hills and the sky. Biju’s father tells him a story about a fairy who saves people in trouble. Biju believes in the fairytale from his heart. One day, some people from the city arrive in the village and inform them that hotels will be built there, and they must leave their homes. Biju becomes frustrated with this news and turns to the fairy from his father’s story for help. Despite Biju’s pleas, no fairy comes to his rescue, and he finds himself sinking into the water. Just like millions, Biju cant find any option to save his childhood, to save his dreams standing in front of modern development and urbanization. No fairy helps them, no super power comes to rescue them, no God protects them from the danger. No one listens to their tear sheds, their struggles. No fairy from the fairytale appears to save them.
