The Heart of a Tree

This immersive film and photography project exploring humanity’s delicate relationship with nature, particularly in light of today’s climate crisis. Set in a barren, treeless landscape, the film imagines a future where humans must adapt to survive, harvesting air as the new gold and planting trees on desolate shores in hopes of restoring life. This visually arresting film serves as a metaphor for a world transformed by ecological disregard, capturing the tension between harmony and survival. Shot by Clare Langan with cinematographer Robbie Ryan and scored by Jóhann Jóhannsson, The Heart of a Tree is part of the Fondazione In Between Art Film collection, where it has sparked critical conversations on environmental balance and resilience.
