Fathom

In this atmospheric film Adam Fung seeks to pull viewers into a hazy, foreboding Arctic state of being. As we navigate these spaces full of diffused, refracted light, viewers must decipher a path forward across a shifting landscape of Arctic imagery. As we face uncertain futures the film creates a space for viewers to process potential eco-anxiety but also formulate strategies for climate action. Using symbolic imagery such as burning candles, hands touching the landscape, melting ice, and other Arctic landscapes, "fathom" firmly places us within the tumultuous Anthropocene.
