Monalisa - a climate story

Directed by Mathias Schweikert & Tobias Schäfer, this documentary follows a young indigenous woman from the Dayak people in Borneo. Amidst the threat of deforestation, Monalisa faces the difficult choice of selling her land for financial survival or standing up for nature. The film explores the personal and environmental impacts of the climate crisis in the Global South, as Monalisa joins a reforestation initiative to find a solution that benefits both her community and the planet.
