Short film by Enrico Casagrande about the controversial practice of debbio (slash and burns), still widely used today in the campanias of the Po Valley.
Debbio is the practice of burning the soil after harvesting, both to speed up fertilization through the burning of residual shrubs and to prevent possible diseases from lingering in the soil. The element of fire, its march, and the smoke enveloping the field, become the elements that give rhythm to the film, a kind of symphony inspired by De Seta’s short films.
