Río Gonzaga Gómez-Cortázar Romero contemplates the interaction between the flow of a river, its wildlife, and the sunlight. Although it is just a few inches deep, the river contains a busy and multilayered life. The close-ups show pondskaters, fish, tadpoles, and leaves… They all move in changing directions, swimming or floating in the water, which is practically invisible despite being what makes a river’s intricate life possible. The film highlights details of a river that could easily be overlooked, but which reveal the vast richness of our vital, life-giving rivers, which our very lives depend upon.
