Streifen (Stripes) is inspired by the still life painting of the 17th century, the splendid flower and fruit still lifes by Jan Bruegel or Wilhelm Kalf. The motif of transitoriness, vanitas, which is only hinted at in these paintings, is expanded to its full extent by Lisa Weber. The color and shape of the plants and fruits depicted change until they have almost completely passed over time. The period of observation does not correspond to the actual period of withering, time is perceived differently than usual, namely as something that expands horizontally in space. You can literally watch the time go by.
