Mahwish Chishty: Untitled I-III

Mahwish Chishty combines new media and conceptual work with materials and techniques of South Asian art and craft traditions. Her artistic research combines her interest in Pakistani traditional folk art/culture and contemporary politics as it relates to US/Pakistan relationship. Starting from a silhouette of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, she paints colorful folk ‘truck art’ imagery on war machines to give them a second skin that opens a dialogue about Pakistani culture.
