Drone Skin

In Untitled I–III, Mahwish Chishty reimagines the silhouette of unmanned aerial vehicles as canvases for vibrant Pakistani truck art. By overlaying these symbols of surveillance and warfare with intricate folk patterns, she transforms instruments of conflict into objects of cultural expression. The juxtaposition invites viewers to reflect on the intersection of tradition and technology, and the complexities of cultural identity in the modern world. Through this silent, slow-paced visual experience, Chishty encourages a contemplative engagement with themes of power, heritage, and transformation. This work can be seen at [The Imperial War Museum, London,https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/86330]
