Giovanni Paolo Panini: Gallery with Views of Modern Rome

Giovanni Paolo Panini was an Italian painter and architect. Around 1750 he painted three almost identical works named Ancient Rome. The paintings depict many of the most important architectural sites and sculptures from ancient Rome, such as the Pantheon, the Apollo Belvedere and the Colosseum. This version of Ancient Rome is located in the Louvre Museum in Paris, France.
